STATEMENT STRIPES

Most of my photographs turn out looking like this, so you can imagine how long it takes to get a few decent ones without me goofing off!

Keeping a close eye on the fashion shows throughout the early months of the year can clue you in on big upcoming trends! I've always loved print but seeing designers like Dries Van Noten and Giambattista Valli take over the runway with interesting striped designs made me reconsider my favorite print. I took a chance and ordered this two piece I had been eyeing for weeks. Shortly after ordering this set, I saw an almost identical fabric on one of Donna Karan's dresses so there was no turning back. To compliment the darker hues I paired the set with a fun leather jacket. I personally thought this was the perfect touch! One thing I love about two pieces is that you can dress them up or wear them casually, but regardless, there's not much planning involved in looking amazing!

Style Tip: Wearing vertical stripes can help you look taller, especially if you're vertically challenged. For most of us, it is best to steer clear of thick horizontal stripes because they tend to be unflattering. Of course, if horizontal stripes are a must, go for thinner stripes if possible.
